With its large cooking area, you can toast more Paninis and even have each side at a different temperature if required.  The advantages of ceramic are the extreme ease of cleaning,  fast heat-up, and faster cooking speeds since ceramic doesn't stick like cast iron grills.   So quicker and less messy and also more economical, since thanks to the fast heat-up time, you can turn the Panini machine down until needed, therefore saving money.
